At the Aquatic Center for Brownsville ISD, our team completed a retrofit of the existing mechanical systems serving the interior space of the building and pool’s heating system. Our solution addressed the owner’s concerns of improving the space temperature, humidity and failing equipment. We replaced two large self-contained DX units with new fabricated rooftop ductwork, and three new boilers for the pool water heating system that included eight pumps. In addition, we installed a new dehumidification circuit with reheat that controlled the environment in the aquatics space. Lastly, a new controls system was installed to control the new equipment and the environment.
